Where did you go to school? I attended Mercer University and received my BA with a major in Christianity and a minor in Psychology and Greek. I received a Master of Divinity from Mid- America Baptist Theological Seminary.
How did you end up at SBC? Following seminary I became the pastor at Long Heights Baptist Church in McKenzie, Tn. I stayed there for 10 years. I then became the Interim Pastor at Springhill Baptist Church for a little over one year. Through someone knowing the family member of someone else who spoke to their pastor (though I believe it was the providence of God) Second Baptist Church and I found each other. I came here July 2001 and have enjoyed every minute. I have no doubts that God brought our family here.
Why do you love your job? I love serving Second Baptist Church because I know first of all that this is where God wants me. Over these years God has given me such good friends that I feel like I've been here for a lot longer than I really have. I love worshiping with my church family every week. I can't imagine being anywhere else.
Favorite verse? Usually my favorite verse is the one I'm preaching that week. I do love Luke 1:37 "For nothing is impossible with God". That's such a limitless promise that it trumps whatever is going on in my life. And I like that.
Favorite Song? There are so many songs that touch my heart that it's difficult to pick just one. Right now I enjoy "I Bowed On My Knees"...especially when Vince sings it. It helps me look beyond this place to that "other" place that I can hardly wait to see and experience. The best part to me is, as the song says, "...But I said I want to Jesus, for He's the one who died for me".

Where did you go to school? I graduated from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia - The Little Baptist College on the Hill.
How did you end up at SBC? Now this is an amazing story. Mark and Keri Motley asked me to consider applying for the Music Minister's position in 200?. I thought they were really joking...or I was very intimidated at the idea. However, after Calvin Allmon, the banker, called my mother and got her upset (smile), I was still hesitant but agreed to at least sit down with them the next day. I remember praying for God's will to be done. The next day Pastor Mike, Darin, Leon, and Calvin sat down together just to talk. The meeting went well, but I was not convinced that this would be a fit for me and my family. A couple of weeks later, Pastor Mike called me back. I stepped out on faith and agreed to come to be a part of Second Baptist.
Why do you love your job? I look around and can see how blessed I am. I mean I get to do what I love share Christ in song. God has blessed me with humble people who want to experience and share Christ.
Favorite Verse? Proverbs 3:5,6 and Psalms 1
Favorite Song? All of them!

Where did you go to school? LaFayette High School, Shorter College
How did you end up at SBC? The Lord just placed the job in front of me and said "This is where you're supposed to be." The funny thing is that when I began working here, I didn't want to attend the same church that I worked for, and now my family and I are active members of Second Baptist. My husband is a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and AWANA leader, and I am involved in the choir and praise team and just started the new special needs children's church room, SuperKids.
Why do you love your job? Because I feel like working as a church secretary is a calling, not a job. I feel blessed every day to be a part of God's work.
Favorite Verse? Jeremiah 29:11
Favorite Song? "Your Hands" by JJ Heller.
